Impacts of no alternative to the project
The No Project Alternative would continue the operations currently operating at SCLF with the capacity of 3,400 tons per day (TPD). However, it would have to transfer waste to an alternative facility sooner than the alternatives 1 and 2 of the proposal. In other words, the No Project Alternative would result in a costlier alternative to SCLF. While No Project Alternative would have more impact than Variations 1 or 2. It would nevertheless meet all four objectives of this project.
Additionally, a No Project/No Development Alternative will have fewer short-term and longer-term impacts. The No Project/No Development Alternative will not have the same impact on the quality of water and soils as the proposed development. This alternative will not provide the environmental protection the community demands. This would be in contrast to the project in a variety of ways.
