The alternative plan would be more costly than the plan, and the additional 13,234 dwellings will increase the number of motorist trips. However, the project would likely adhere to the same design guidelines. The result would be a significantly more appealing area.
To minimize the overall impact of the project's impacts, an Environmentally Superior alternatives Alternative (ESA) must be identified. This alternative will limit the amount of noise and vibration caused by construction. It is still a viable option to achieve the main goals of the project. However, it might not be the most appropriate option for the development. This is the reason why it is vital to select an Environmentally Superior Alternative.
A more sustainable alternative to the Project could reduce the overall impact on the surrounding environment by approximately 60%. The more intensive residential option will create a more balanced housing/employment ratio. The total employment would be reduced by 17% under the proposed project however, the alternative would eliminate any need for new parking. Alternative 2 will also create less noise than the Proposed Project. alternative projects 2 is therefore an alternative that is more environmentally friendly than the Project.
The No Project/No Development Alternative would reduce the impact by diminuting the footprint of Project Site by approximately 50 percent. The Alternative would preserve the existing 13th Street at-grade crossing. The environmental impact of the Project Alternative will be the same as Alternative 1, but the No Project/No Development alternative will lessen them. The environmental benefits would be less for both alternatives. The Environmentally Superior Alternative to the Project is a better option than the Project.
Increased residential intensity is an alternative
The Reduced Intensity Alternative is a much more feasible concept for development than the Proposed Project. It will minimize impacts to aesthetics, public services and urban decay while achieving almost all the project objectives. The Reduced Intensity Option would include a buffer strip to reduce the effects of construction noise as well as land disturbance. This option will not meet all project objectives. It could bring many desired benefits to the community.
Three alternatives were analyzed by the OSA PEIR for the development. In addition to the initial plan, three additional alternatives were selected based upon new information and CEQA Guidelines Section 15126.6. These alternatives could reduce the overall impact of the project on air quality and GHG emissions. These alternatives would also reduce impact of development. The Environmental Impact Statement will also take into consideration the economic, social and construction-related effects that are associated with the construction of the project.
The Reduced Industrial Development Alternative will reduce the amount of industrial sites and their emissions. The plan would replace industrial use with residential ones, while keeping the same projections and policies regarding water use and quality. This option would result in less overall development than the Proposed Project. In addition, the Residential Intensity Alternative would allow for less intensive residential development within the floodplain of 100 years. Although it will have less impact than the Proposed Project, it would not be governed by the same upgraded hydrology-related policies.
The Reduced Intensity Option is a viable alternative to the Project. It would be similar to operational activities to the Proposed Project, but would have a buffer to reduce noise and altox.Io other impacts to receptors that are sensitive. The Reduction in Intensity Alternative would be more affordable than the Proposed Project and is an suitable alternative for the neighborhood. The Reduced Intensity Alternative would decrease overall impact as well as reduce impacts on air quality, noise and climate change as well as other environmental issues.
